Do we need Gold Rush?

This development:

Gold Rush is No Gold Mine

The Gold Rush developers will make all kinds of claims that this subdivision will save Sutter Creek from economic demise.

From the beginning, this development has been short on details and long on promises. Despite repeated requests for more info, the developers have stalled the planning process by not providing requested documents. They have refused to consider a smaller development with fewer negative impacts. The developers themselves have even recently stated that the project was becoming economically infeasible. The Sutter Creek City council members expressed grave reservations about the project, but then approved it anyway with a “statement of overriding considerations”. Remember that the mitigations are not enhancements to Sutter Creek; they just mitigate the projects' impacts.

About a dozen state and local agencies, including those with serious concerns about the project, must still grant approval for the project. These agencies include Amador Water Agency, LAFCO, CalTrans, Dept. of Fish & Game, and more.

This development is out of scale with our rural community and puts the cost of growth on current residents. Read about the issues in detail by click on the menu links above.

Endorse NO on Measure N and join us to require the City Council to consider a smaller project with fewer impacts!
